Product description

The wind deflector covers the cut edges of the roof panels at the eaves, i.e. at the lower edge of the roof. It covers the open end of the panels and channels running water in a controlled manner towards the gutter. Thanks to its freely adjustable angle, it adapts to different roof pitches.

  • Covering the cut edges of roof panels at the eaves
  • Covering the panel cut-off edges at the eaves

Material: 0.75 mm galvanised sheet steel, 25 µm PE-coated

Typical applications

The wind deflector is used wherever the roof surface ends at the lower edge. Typical applications include:

  • Cladding of cut edges on roof panels in the eaves area
  • Covering the exposed panel ends at the lower edge of the roof
  • Controlled water drainage towards the gutter
  • Weather protection for exposed edges at the eaves

The profile is made of 0.75 mm thick galvanised sheet steel with a 25 µm PE coating and is available in the colours RAL 7016, 8012, 9002, 9006 and 9007. The freely adjustable angle from 0° to 180° allows it to be adapted to different roof pitches.

When should you choose this profile?

The wind deflector is the right choice for cladding the cut edges of panels in the eaves area. Where the water flows directly into the gutter, the eaves flashing is the appropriate component; both complement each other at the lower edge of the roof. The valley flashing is designed for the side finish at the gable, whilst the ridge flashing is used on the outside and inside of the ridge. You can find an overview of all profiles in the ‘Edge Profiles’ category.

Matching products

The wind deflector is installed together with roof panels. Suitable products:

  • Roof panels in the desired thickness, such as the 40 mm roof panel or the 60 mm roof panel. You can find the full range under ‘Sandwich Panels – Roof’.
  • Screws for fixing the edge profiles, such as the 7550 screw, which is specifically designed for edge profiles.
  • The eaves flashing for a direct transition into the gutter: Eaves Flashing.

You can find an overview of all accessories in our Accessories section.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the wind deflector used for?

It covers the exposed cut edges of the roof panels at the lower edge of the roof and protects them from the elements. At the same time, it directs the runoff water in a controlled manner towards the gutter.

What is the difference between the wind deflector and the eaves flashing?

Both profiles are fitted at the lower edge of the roof and are often installed together. The wind deflector covers the front edge of the panels, whilst the eaves flashing directs the water straight into the gutter. We’d be happy to advise you on the right combination.

Does the profile suit every roof pitch?

The angle can be freely adjusted from 0° to 180°, so the profile suits any roof pitch. For special connection scenarios, we’ll advise you on the most suitable design.

In what lengths and colours is the profile available?

The profile is available in lengths of 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2 and 2.5 metres, as well as in the colours RAL 7016, 8012, 9002, 9006 and 9007. We manufacture lengths of 2.5 metres or more on request.
