Product description

The ridge cap (internal) covers the joint edges of the roof panels at the ridge of a gable roof from the underside. It is the counterpart to the external ridge cap and neatly finishes the ridge joint from the inside. Together, both profiles ensure a watertight and visually neat ridge finish.

  • Covering the panel joints on the insidein the ridge area of gable roofs

Material: 0.75 mm galvanised sheet steel, 25 µm PE-coated

Typical applications

The ridge cap (internal) is used wherever the panel edges at the gable roof ridge are to be clad from the underside as well. Typical applications include:

  • Covering the panel joints on the inside at the ridge of gable roofs
  • Internal finish where two roof surfaces meet
  • Neat cladding of the ridge seam from below
  • Complement to the external ridge cap for a complete ridge finish

The profile is made of 0.75 mm thick galvanised sheet steel with a 25 µm PE coating and is available in the colours RAL 7016, 8012, 9002, 9006 and 9007. The adjustable angle from 0° to 180° allows it to be adapted to the roof pitch.

When should you choose this profile?

The ridge cap (internal) is the right choice for the internal finish of the ridge joint on a gable roof and is usually installed together with the external ridge cap, which covers the joint from above. For a monopitch roof with only one sloping surface, however, the monopitch ridge cap is intended. You can find an overview of all profiles in the ‘Edge Profiles’ category.

Matching products

The ridge cap (internal) is installed together with roof panels. Suitable products:

  • Roof panels in the desired thickness, such as the 40mm roof panel or the 60mm roof panel. You can find the full range under ‘Sandwich Panels – Roof’.
  • The external ridge cap as the counterpart for the top of the ridge seam: External ridge cap.
  • Screws for fixing the edge profiles, such as the 7550 screw, which is specifically designed for edge profiles.

You can find an overview of all accessories in our Accessories section.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need both the internal and external ridge flashings?

Generally speaking, yes. The external ridge cap covers the ridge seam from above, whilst the internal ridge cap seals it from below. Together, they provide a watertight, neat ridge finish on a gable roof.

How does the ridge cap differ from the monopitch ridge cap?

The ridge cap (inside) is designed for a gable roof, where two roof slopes meet at the ridge. The single-slope ridge cap, on the other hand, finishes off the upper edge of a single-slope roof. The choice depends on the roof shape.

Does the profile suit any roof pitch?

The angle can be adjusted from 0° to 180°, so the profile suits any ridge pitch. For special connection scenarios, we can advise you on the appropriate design.

In what lengths and colours is the profile available?

The profile is available in lengths of 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2 and 2.5 metres, as well as in the colours RAL 7016, 8012, 9002, 9006 and 9007. We manufacture lengths of 2.5 metres or more on request.
