Product description

These 100mm roof lights are twin-skin, insulating GRP rooflight sheets that bring natural daylight into a building while matching the thermal build-up of a 100mm insulated roof. With an inner and an outer GRP skin separated by a 100mm cavity, they suit highly insulated, heated buildings where the rooflight must keep pace with a thick roof build-up.

Minimum order 30m²
Lead time 6-7 weeks production schedule dependent
Glass Reinforced Polyester Resin (GRP)

  • Outer Class 3 CE24E
  • Inner Class 1 CE18

8500mm maximum length
50mm filler blocks produced in line with purlin spacings

Typical Applications

The 100mm roof lights are used where daylight and high thermal performance are both required on a thick roof. Typical applications include:

  • daylight strips in highly insulated warehouse and hall roofs
  • continuously heated commercial and industrial buildings
  • roofs built up with 100mm insulated roof panels
  • buildings with strict energy requirements

The sheet is made from glass reinforced polyester resin (GRP) with an outer skin (Class 3, CE24E) and an inner skin (Class 1, CE18) in a natural translucent finish, giving an overall thickness of 100 mm and a cover width of 1000 mm. Maximum length is 8500 mm, with 50mm filler blocks produced in line with purlin spacings. The minimum order is 30 m², with a lead time of 6 to 7 weeks depending on the production schedule.

When to choose this roof light?

The 100mm roof light matches a thick, highly insulated roof. For a roof built up with 80mm panels the 80mm roof light is the right match, and for 40mm panels the 40mm roof light. For the thickest build-up, see the 120mm roof light; for an unheated building, the single-skin 2.5mm roof light is the more economical option. A full overview is available in our clear roofing sheets section.

Suitable Accessories

For installing the 100mm roof lights we need or recommend:

  • Tek screws with sealing washers, matched to a timber or steel substructure. Because of the substantial thickness the required screw length is longer. A selection is available among our screws and fixings.
  • 50mm filler blocks, produced in line with your purlin spacings to close the profile.
  • matching roof panels for the surrounding roof area: see the stock articles for the appropriate panel thickness.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which roof build-up do the 100mm roof lights suit?

They suit a thick, highly insulated roof. For thinner roofs, choose the 80mm or 40mm roof light so the rooflight matches the surrounding panels.

Are these roof lights insulating?

Yes. The 100mm roof light is twin-skin with a cavity between the inner and outer GRP skins, giving it thermal performance in line with a 100mm insulated roof. This avoids a thermal weak point in a heated building.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

Yes. The minimum order is 30 m², with a lead time of 6 to 7 weeks depending on the production schedule.

What is the maximum length available?

The maximum length is 8500 mm. The 50mm filler blocks are produced in line with your purlin spacings, so please send us the spacing details with your enquiry.
