U-profile FL-205

The U-profile is the basic finishing profile for wall panels. It forms the perimeter frame that allows wall panels to be neatly fixed to the floor and to cover window or door openings. It thus ensures a neat, protected finish wherever a panel edge remains visible or needs to be secured.

The U-profile is used wherever wall panels begin, end or join openings. Typical applications include:

• Perimeter frames for securing wall panels to the floor
• Cladding of joints at window and door openings
• neat side finishes for wall surfaces
• Protection of exposed cut edges against the elements

The profile is made of 0.75 mm thick galvanised sheet steel with a 25 µm PE coating and is available in the colours RAL 7016, 8012, 9002, 9006 and 9007. This means it can be selected to match the colour of most wall panels.

The U-profile is the right choice for the lower wall edge and for covering cut-outs. For joining wall elements at external or internal corners, however, the external corner profile or internal corner profile is intended. The U-profile is installed together with wall panels. Suitable products include:

• Wall panels in the desired thickness, such as the 40 mm wall panel or the 60 mm wall panel. You can find the full range under ‘Sandwich Panels – Walls’.
• Screws for fixing the edge profiles, such as the 7550 screw, which is specifically designed for edge profiles.
• Additional edge profiles for corners and joints, colour-matched to the same shade.

In which lengths and colours is the U-profile available?

The profile is available in lengths of 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2 and 2.5 metres, as well as in the colours RAL 7016, 8012, 9002, 9006 and 9007. We manufacture lengths of 2.5 metres or more on request.

What screws do I need for fixing?

Screw 7550 is suitable for fixing edge profiles, as it is designed specifically for this purpose. The correct choice depends on the substrate; we’d be happy to advise you on this.

Can I match the colour of the profile to my panels?

Yes. The U-profile is available in five standard RAL colours, so it can be colour-matched to most wall panels. If you require a different colour, please contact us.

What is the U-profile used for on windows and doors?

Around cut-outs for windows and doors, the U-profile covers the open edge of the panel. This protects the exposed edge and gives the cut-out a neat, finished edge.
