PIR Sandwich Panel Insulation Materials
Polyisocyanurate (abbreviation PIR) – sandwich panel insulation material
In addition to PUR (polyurethane), polyisocyanurates are also regularly used for the cores of insulated wall panels, in the form of hard foams. PIR foams have a higher proportion of diphennylmethane diisocyanate.
Thanks to this increased proportion of diphennylmethane diisocynate, minimal insulation thicknesses can be achieved by way of their excellent thermal insulation properties and their low bulk densities.
PIR is therefore also used, for example, for the insulation and sealing of light industrial roofing.
